Our Waste Mission

Our Waste Mission

At Castello, we believe every mouthful is an opportunity to feed your senses. It’s why we never want to waste a bite.

Food waste globally contributes towards climate change. So it felt natural to us to want to take our own waste mission out into the world. Today and in the future we are minimizing food waste at our dairies, tackling packaging waste, and doing our bit to inspire everyone at home to do the same.

Leftover Cheese Recipes

At Castello we never want to see a single piece of cheese wasted. So to inspire you to use up whatever leftover cheese you have, we worked with our chefs to turn yesterday's leftover pieces, into today's taste sensations.

Food Waste At The Dairy

For years our dairies have been continuously working on reducing the amount of cheese that's wasted. From taking daily walks to spot waste issues, to introducing renewable energy to keep the cheeses churning. Discover more here.

More sustainable Packaging

At Castello we are working towards a future ambition where our packaging is 100% recyclable and renewable by 2026. The carton board on our mould cheese for example is already 100% sourced from FSC and we are now also using less plastic in our packaging. We are committed to the journey ahead and here we share a few of the successes, as well as the bumps in the road, we've experienced so far.
