Castello Smoked Gouda Dip with Fresh Soft Pretzels

  • 16 oz (2 blocks) cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz Castello® Smoked gouda, shredded
  • 2 - 3 cloves garlic, minced (adjust to taste)
  • sea salt, to taste
  • black pepper, to taste
  • white pepper, to taste
  • chopped fresh herbs for garnish

For the Dip:

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded Castello Smoked Gouda, and minced garlic. Stir until smooth and well blended.

3. Season the mixture with sea salt, black pepper, and white pepper to taste.

4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly. Top with the remaining shredded Smoked Gouda.

5. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the Smoked Gouda cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

6. Remove from the oven and finish with a sprinkle of freshly chopped herbs and a light touch of sea salt. Serve warm.

For the Pretzels:

1. Preheat your oven to 450°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Roll out store-bought pizza dough and sprinkle with freshly grated Smoked Gouda.

3. Twist the dough into pretzel shapes.

4. Create a water wash by mixing water with a few tablespoons of baking soda in a shallow dish.

5. Soak each pretzel briefly (about 30 seconds) in the water wash and then place it on the prepared baking sheet.

6. Sprinkle the pretzels with coarse sea salt.

7. Bake pretzels for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
